Our Story
"It is written."
Maktub (مكتوب) literally translates to “written” or “it is written.” Rooted in the Arabic k-t-b (كتب), the word is connected to writing, recording, and putting something into written form. But Maktub carries meaning beyond the page. It can also speak to the idea that what is meant to happen has already been written, evoking a sense of destiny, inevitability, or simply being meant to be.
There is what we choose to write, and what we feel was written for us. We make decisions, put our intentions into words, and commit them to paper. Yet some of life’s most important moments can feel like they were always meant to find us.
